Wonderfully said. So many of the people posting truly mediocre photos not only have never considered this, but aren’t even aware of who Weston and other greats were. To paraphrase Weston, “There are no shortcuts “.

I agree with everything described. However, being one that thrives on photographing wildlife and the moment and thrill that presents one in a matter of seconds, I cannot remember the time I had to step aside to get that perfect image. That benefit, if ever, is one I rarely encounter. However, that does not stop me from, when time allows, using that advice. Dale

'Study the rules, but treat them as guidelines." Excellent as it is always good to contemplate what prompted the rule and does it apply in a particular situation.
